Life, NaNoWriMo

I Won NaNoWriMo ’15!

December 1, 2015

NaNoWriMo 2015 winner

I validated my 2015 NaNoWriMo novel last night!

Ok, so I passed the 50,000 word mark during week 3 so it’s not like it’s a surprise, but it’s nice to see that little badge marking me as a 2015 winner.

I didn’t write much at all during week 4 because I’ve got an assignment deadline coming up so writing was pushed to the side. While that means I will get my assignments finished in time, it does mean that I won’t reach my second goal of finishing my first draft off by the end of November. But that’s ok.

A large chunk of my first draft has been written, so it’s not a disaster that I’ve not finished it off yet. My aim is to keep working on my first draft and get it finished by the end of January.

High fives all round to my fellow NaNoWriMos if you reached your goal too! I think it’s wonderful, and a little weird, that writers from across the globe spend an entire month writing towards the same goal.

How did you get on with NaNoWriMo? Did you reach 50,000 words?

Congratulations!!! That’s such an awesome accomplishment! I write terribly under pressure so there was no way I could ever attempt this.

    • Thanks, Sarah. Oh, I can’t work on my novel unless I feel under some kind of pressure.

  • Congrats! Every year I tell myself I’ll do it, and then it gets to the end of October and I remember and panic because I’m not prepared… Maybe next year haha!

    • Haha, the first two years I did it that’s what I did too. If if have done that this year, I’d never have managed to get halfway to 50,000. This year, I started my planning in July.
