I know I know, I say this every month but why is time going so fast!
Here are a few things I enjoyed this month. Please share the love in the comment section.
Music – There’s only one option for this, even though it came out at the end of the month and if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter it won’t come as a surprise. Drumroll please. It’s 1989 by Taylor Swift. It’s definitely a pop album and it’s very different to her previous albums but she pulls it off.
Also I feel Ed Sheeran deserves an honourable mention here. Last week I took my Mum to see him in Manchester and wow, he was fantastic.
Books – I read some fantastic books in October. My highlights of the month were Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and I Am Sarah by Ally Malinenko. (The review for I Am Sarah will be posted tomorrow.)
Beauty – This is an easy one. LUSH’s Christmas products returned this month so the answer to this has to be their Buche de Noel cleanser. My face has been pining for this cleanser since I ran out in March.
Food – Cinnamon swirls all the way! I attempted cinnamon swirls myself and it was a bit of a fail but my Mum made some and they were delicious. We used this recipe from Jamie Oliver.
Blogs – One of my favourite blogs this month has been Notebook Sisters (the name is changing to Paper Fury soon though!). It’s a book blog run by Cait and I love her sense of humour. Her reviews and posts are well-written, full of humour and there are more GIFs than you can shake a stick at!
TV – I started watching The Mindy Project in October. I’d seen the adverts before and it didn’t look great but when I started watching it I ended up loving it.

Hello October! Which means it must be time to share with you a few things I enjoyed in September.
Music – Little Machines by LIGHTS has been on repeat since it came out last Monday. There is not one bad song on there. My favourites at the moment are Running With The Boys, Same Sea and Muscle Memory, but the whole album is worth a listen.
Films – Last Tuesday Tom and I watched Bad Grandpa, I don’t think either of us have laughed that hard in a long time. The beauty pageant scene had me in stitches and I’ve still got Cherry Pie by Warrant stuck in my head.
Books – September has been another slow reading month but I did read Triptych by Karin Slaughter (you can read my review here,) and loved it. If you like crime novels, I think you’ll love this.
Food – I haven’t been overly-enamored with food this month, I’m just feeling so uninspired at the moment. If you know any delicious vegetarian recipes that you’ve tried recently, please share them with me.
Beauty – This month I’ve really been into my Bare Minerals bronzer that I bought last year. It gives great coverage and seems to be refilling itself because I’ve had it a year and still haven’t hit pan.
Blogs – A few days ago I found Lucy’s Stash, a nail blog and her pictures and swatches are stunning and give me serious nail envy.

August has been a very busy month. It’s one of those months that seems to have been long but it’s gone very quick at the same time.
We’re two days in to September already so I guess it’s time I share a few things I was loving in August.
Music – After buying my Mum tickets to see Ed Sheeran for her birthday I discovered that I thought he was pretty darn awesome. My favourite Sheeran song at the moment is I See Fire.
While on the way back from Belgium, I discovered that there’s a French version of Sing with a French rapper.
Films – The Inbetweeners 2 finally arrived in August. I saw that film twice and it was hilarious both times. I wasn’t bowled over by the first film, and I know a lot of people who felt the same, but the second film is so much better.
Tom bought me Despicable Me for my birthday and I loved it. I adore a good kids film and that is a bloody brilliant one.
Books – August was so hectic that I only finished two books, one of which was Burial Rites by Hannah Kent. Burial Rites tells the story of Agnes Magnusdottir, who was the last woman to be executed in Iceland.
Most people regard her as a cold, calculating murderer but as we don’t have all the information available on her life so after years and years of research Kent wrote Burial Rites which shines a more empathetic life on Magnus’ life and the circumstances she found herself in.
You can read my review here.
Food – I have harped on about this enough on my blog and in real life but that pizza I had in Germany <3 I’ve eaten pizza since then and not only was it disappointed but I’m pretty sure my jaw almost dislocated. That was clearly the German pizza trying to get me back for cheating on it.
Beauty – Last week I bought Illamasqua’s lip colouring pencil in Spell and I love it! There will be a gushing review up within the next couple of weeks. It is a lovely pillarbox red shade and it lasts for hours.
Blog – My favourite blogs are those which cover a variety of topics and don’t conform to beauty blogging stereotypes and that’s exactly what you get with Rinica Writes. I’ve been reading Rinica’s blog for about a year now, she always gives good advice, talks about a variety of topics and is such a nice, friendly person.

What did you love in August?
This is something I mean to do everything month but forget. I want to share the love and share things with you that I really enjoyed in July.
Books: I’ve not read many books in July but two books I read and loved were: The One by Kiera Cass and Awaken (The Soulkeepers #2) by Lori Adams.
The One (my review) is the final instalment in The Selection series, which is a cross between a dystopian and one of those The Bachelor-type competitive dating shows.
Awaken (my review) is the second book the The Soulkeepers series. It’s a paranormal book and follows the main character as she tries desperately to discover her demon-killing powers.
Music: This month one of my favourite artists LIGHTS released her new single Up We Go. Sounds like a pretty cool summer song to me.
Oh and if you’ve somehow managed to miss Weird Al taking over the internet, I recommend Word Crimes set to Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines.
Film: Tom and I went to see How To Train Your Dragon 2 at the start of the month and wow, it was so much fun! I haven’t seen the first one yet but it was still really fun.
Blog: My favourite blog in July is one I discovered a few weeks ago – Oddly Lovely, I read this blog every day. Cat is lovely and her blog is a good mix of dogs (Ru is adorable), lifestyle, fashion, beauty and food.
Beauty: In July I started using my MUA Undress Me Too palette again and I love it so much. Especially the shades Shy and Fiery, they look so good together.
